DTF Film Buyer's Guide: How to Choose the Right Film for You?

Step 1 : Choose Peel Time, Determines Efficiency of Production

Peel off within 1-2 seconds after heat pressing, eliminating the need for cooling and saving labor time.

Suitable for: Small orders with quick response mode and mass production of T-shirts, , and orders requiring high efficiency.

(2)Hot Peel Film

Peel off within 3-5 seconds after heat pressing, before the film completely cools (temperature >70°C).

Suitable for: Medium-efficiency production, which needs to balance peel speed and pattern stability.

(3)Warm Peel Film

Wait about 10 seconds after heat pressing and then peel when the film temperature drops to 30–50°C (not too hot, but not entirely cooled).

Suitable for: Printing Complex patterns or fabric types requiring a smooth finish.

(4)Cold Peel Film

Wait for 15+ seconds until the film cools completely (temperature <30°C) before peeling off.

Suitable for: Orders requiring high color fastness and fine details, such as cotton T-shirts or matte finishes.

Step 2 :Choose Coating Structure, Determines Stability

(1)Single-Sided Matte Film

It only has a matte coating on the front but not on the back, which may lead to a slip problem, requiring frequent recalibration of printers.

Suitable for: Orders requiring stable environments and printers but simple patterns, or requiring transferring prints on the same day after baking.

It has a matte coating on both sides with an ink absorption + release coating on the front and an anti-slippery + anti-static coating on the back. Ensure higher printing stability, precise drop and clean powder shaking, so the film can be stick-resistant and protect the integrity of patterns.

Suitable for: High-precision chromatic printing, high-end sportswear orders, and orders requiring store printed films before transferring them to garments.
